Love

Love is something we all want to experience. Whether it be in a manner of a child-parent relationship, husband-wife relationship, or simply wanting to give our love. But love is complicated for some. Not all love is unconditional.

They say a parent always loves unconditionally, however, that is not always the case. Many parents will stop speaking to their child simply because of what the child did, how can that be called love? On the other hand, if your child tells you “stop talking to me forever,” it will hurt you as a parent, however, you will stop talking to them out of love (of course after attempting to convince them to not do such a thing).

For those that say they do not want to love or be loved or be in love, they have usually given so much of themselves for love and then got hurt and no longer want to feel that so they simply give up on love.

What is so interesting about all of those feelings towards love is that love is the first and only feeling we are born with. It is an innate behavior of ours to love. It is one of the strongest feelings we experience.

It is okay that love is complicated, but we have to let ourselves feel it and give it no matter what. If we do not give something a chance, we will never learn what we were meant to learn from that experience of loving. Trust me, I have been hurt because of loving someone too much or loving the wrong person, however, I also would not be the person I am today if I had not chosen the path I did.

Our love begins at ourselves. We give love in order to receive it, feeling loved and giving love is one of the best feelings in the world. It makes you a better version of yourself. But we can not begin to give love or fully receive it without loving ourselves first. Loving ourselves means knowing ourselves and being kind to ourselves.

Choose to love and experience what it can give you.
