Journaling has been one of the most helpful activities I have found for dealing with many different feelings. Whether it be anxiety, sadness, nervous, or happiness, gratitude, love, I have always been able to resort to it and come out with a clearer mind. Many times, you do not necessarily want to share everything with anyone but yourself and journaling gives you that opportunity. You have the ability to keep your thoughts to yourself.
Many times, when you begin writing, it takes you down a different path than you originally started with. You begin to gain more clarity on a particular situation, good or bad. Once you gain clarity, you are able to approach the situation with a purpose and not just scrambling to figure it out as you go.
Funny thing was that English was never my strong suit. It is actually my second language even though I was born and raised in the US. I had to go to tutoring for years. However, I used to always enjoying writing. When I was younger, I would write all sorts of fictional stories, which I still have to this day. As I got older, my stories turned into real stories of my life.
There are pages of my journals that I do not look upon too fondly at first glance, but then I realize that I would not be here today if I had not gone through all that I have, again, good and bad. Our downfalls are the moments in our life that mold us into who we truly are. And when you journal those moments, you are able to reflect upon them again. Maybe you are at a point in your life where you have lost sight of who you are, you can look at your past entries and begin to gain insight on who you are at the core. Now I am sure you have changed since those entries, however, it gives you a push off point.
Journaling gave me hope when I felt like there was no hope. It gave me clarity and strength and it helped me to figure out my path and who I am and what I am passionate about. It is so true that when you get to do what you are passionate about for work, it never feels like you are working because you are doing it from this place deep within you. It is your core.

I would honestly recommend to anyone who feels lost in any way to try journaling for even just a week and see how you feel. For those of you that feel like your life is great, I would recommend journaling for you as well because you will be able to take a moment each day to be grateful and then if you have an off day or days, you can look back upon the moments that you were so grateful for.
